Fall in Westford means cooler air, cozy fires, and hidden chimney risks. Our team is already scheduling inspections for older brick chimneys, where creosote buildup and cracked mortar can turn a quiet evening into a hazard. If your chimney hasn’t been swept since last winter, now’s the time. Book a visit before the first hard freeze here, we’ll check for damage, test draft strength, and explain what you’re seeing in your flue. Licensed, insured, and local to Westford since 2008, we specialize in the quirks of older homes.
What Westford Chimney Sweep Customers Ask Us This Time of Year
The first cold snap always brings the same questions from Westford homeowners. ‘Why is smoke backing into my room?’ Often, it’s a cracked liner or blocked cap, common in older brick chimneys after a wet spring. ‘I see black soot on the fireplace floor, is that normal?’ No. That’s creosote, and it’s flammable. ‘My chimney’s 100 years old, should I be worried?’ Absolutely, but we’ve restored dozens like yours. If you’re unsure, start with a free estimate here. We’ll inspect for water damage, rusted flashing, and weak mortar joints, problems that worsen when Westford’s freeze-thaw cycles hit. How to Reach Us Before the Rush
Fall bookings fill fast, especially for homes with historic brick chimneys. To avoid delays, call or email us by October 15th, we prioritize Westford residents first. Need proof of our work? Check our license here or ask for our insurance details before scheduling. We serve Westford, Lowell, and surrounding towns like Chelmsford and Acton, but our crew stays local. Pro tip: If your chimney’s never been lined, now’s the time to upgrade. Older brick flues lose heat efficiency fast, and a new liner can cut costs by 30%. See our flue liner guide for Westford’s specific needs. Questions? Reply to this update or contact us directly.
